How Pixel Quest works
The bar is the countdown: full HP at the start, empty at zero, draining smoothly the whole way. The last minute turns it yellow, the last ten seconds turn it red and shake the number.
Count-up runs an open-run screen instead — a full blue bar with a moving cursor, elapsed time above it, no target and nothing that drains.
What can I change?
Pick the background color behind the panel, or make it transparent and let the HUD sit over your scene.
Pixel Quest controls its own palette and its pixel digit face. A saved bar, ring, timer color, digit-font, or font-size setting doesn't change the design. Duration, clock targets, messages, start triggers, resume, and overtime still work.
What happens at the end?
At zero the screen reads GAME OVER and pulses for a few seconds. Overtime flips to OVERCHARGE: the frame goes gold, a wave runs through the cells, and sparks rise off the bar.
